Summer Horseback Riding
Choose a horseback ride to suit your adventure level and time availability. All rides have a 2 person minimum, hourly rates do not include gratuity.
One Hour Ride Best suited for tenderfoots who would like to get warmed up before heading out on an overnight riding trip. This light but adventurous ride climbs to a beautiful viewing site where you can overlook the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley.
Two Hour Ride Takes a beautiful trail through wildflowers and aspens to our homestead cabin with a stunning view of the rugged Absaroka Mountains. Continuing on for a breathtaking view of Paradise Valley and the Yellowstone River, with a glimpse of mountain peaks in Yellowstone National Park . We easily add another hour to this ride and head to the pristine Gallatin National Forest. Possible wildlife sightings include wolves, eagles, mule deer, elk, fox, coyote and bear.
Day Rides Can be booked to Stand's Basin Camp. We trailer horses a short distance from Flying Diamond Ranch to Dailey Lake. An hour and a half ride from Dailey Lake brings us to Stand's Basin. The homestead is located in a beautiful mountain valley with Emigrant Peak as a backdrop. Once at camp, side rides can be taken to ridge tops and beyond, time permitting. Possible wildlife viewing includes wolves, eagle, mule deer, elk, fox, coyote and bear. Don't forget to bring a sack lunch!
Overnight Rides You will travel to the private Stand's Basin homestead, part of the summer range for Flying Diamond Ranch. We leave from Flying Diamond Ranch for a short drive to Dailey Lake where the mountainous terrain takes us over a pass to Stand's Basin. Once over the pass, your views will be unsurpassed! Photographic opportunities abound in this pristine wild country, with wolves becoming a common sight. Your Montana experience includes a night in an authentic 1893 homestead cabin. A spring provides drinking water. Three cabins are available and meals are provided along with real cowboys, wholesome hospitality and the beauty that only Montana offers. We will ride up nearby ridges providing views in to Yellowstone National Park and beyond that will literally take your breath away! You'll need a sleeping bag, pillow, and personal toiletries. We leave at 1pm in the afternoon and return by 5pm the following day. A home cooked steak dinner will be provided, along with breakfast and lunch the next day.

Mountain Lake Fishing Thompson Lake is a 2 1/2 hour horseback ride each way. This beautiful ride winds through trees and creeks, and once to the lake you can fish for cutthroat trout. This is a nice trip with a gorgeous lake to enjoy. Sack lunch is provided. You will enjoy this ride even if you don't fish.
