FAQ
Hunting Licenses
Montana offers a guaranteed license to non-residents who book with an outfitter. There is no drawing. This license allows for the taking of one elk and one deer. Hunting licenses are available through the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks. If you have booked a hunt, applications for these licenses are forwarded to you as soon as they are available. We'll guide you through the license process upon receipt of a deposit on your upcoming hunt.
Booking your Hunt
Booking must be completed by the first of February. This ensures you a license as well as your preferred dates to hunt. Applications must be in by early March. To book your hunt we require one-half deposit (half of the cost of the hunt). It is non-refundable. Balance due upon arrival. The cost of your hunt does not include your non-resident hunting license.
Hunting Weather Conditions
Hunting is in fairly rugged elk country requiring you to be in reasonably good health and condition. Our well broke mountain horses are used during your hunt. Weather or game conditions may require hunting by foot in elevations ranging from 7,000 to 8,000 ft of rugged terrain.
Gratuities
If you like the ride, tip the guide! On horseback rides, your guides are at work prior to and after your ride. Whether it's rounding up horses for the day, grooming, saddling, unsaddling, grooming again, and graining them, your guides ensure you have a wonderful and safe experience.
Our hunting guides know their business. With years of experience guiding for us, they ensure you have every opportunity to shoot your game while keeping you safe.
